Plan for 2026.

So you’ve set a target for 2026 but you’re not sure how to reach it? AI might just help you out. Read on for some thoughts and prompts to get started.

As a business leader, one thing you can do to help stay on track is to get your annual business plan in place. Having clear goals and milestones will grow your business in the long run.

As in life, many of us will be in resolution mode with good intentions set and are probably still in the honeymoon phase of it all. But as we all know, it gets harder as the year progresses. If you’re anything like us, those resolutions will be long forgotten once the reality of life kicks back in fully. Business is often no different.

Plan now.

As we stated in our last post, we’re in for a bumpy economic ride. With economists forecasting that growth rates will continue to shrink and consumers planning to spend less, we’re all feeling the pinch on the market.

This is why it’s really important to focus on the things that matter to your business and create a plan to achieve them now. No Olympian ever happened to get to the top of their game through talent alone, its highly likely that they set goals and worked towards them over time.

We speak to so many businesses who say that they have a north-star and lots of ideas but no clue how to turn them into reality. That’s where a good business plan can make all the difference, narrowing down the ideas to the ones that will make a difference, that could be the ones that bring the biggest growth or it could be the ones that excite you and motivate you the most. Either will have a positive impact, but make sure they’re achievable.

Use AI.

Try using AI to help create your plan. AI can really help to get something down, it’s not likely to be revolutionary, nor is it going to be perfect but it will be a good start to build upon. (Just make sure you don’t put any confidential information in your prompts.)

Here is a thought-starter to use on your GPT of choice:

“Adopt the role of a business owner tasked with creating a comprehensive 2026 business plan. Your primary objective is to develop a detailed plan, including goals and milestones, that reflects the following:
– Information about the business: [insert business type]
– 2026 target: [insert your target]
– Target market: [insert target market]

From this you should get a basic outline which can be edited and adapted to suit your business. It’s a good starting point if you don’t have a clue where to begin!

And here are some tools you might consider using:
ChatGPT / Copilot for plan drafting and brainstorming.

Notion AI or ClickUp AI for organizing goals and milestones.
Excel/Google Sheets for KPI dashboards.
Miro for visual strategy maps.
